Born in 1912, Francisco Zuniga is an
internationally acclaimed sculptor, painter, draftsman,
printmaker and teacher.
HE studied drawing, stone sculpture,
and engraving at the School of Sine Arts in San Jose. In
1936 he immigrated to Mexico where he studied stone carving
at La Esmeralda in Mexico City, Mexico. He was appointed to
the faculty where he remained until his retirement.
His works have been exhibited worldwide
and are in many museum collections. He died in 1998.
