Born in 1928, Bernard Buffet was an acclaimed "School of Paris" artist by
the age of 20.
He worked as a painter, etcher, lithographer,
designer and sculptor who produced still life, landscapes and portraits all
in a somber yet unique style for post WWII Europe.
Facing severe health problems,
he committed suicide in 1999. In 2012, one of his paintings sold at auction
for a record $2,576,770.00.
