Winold Reiss, a German-American artist, was born in 1886 and died in 1953. This striking portrait is thought by many art experts to be the work of the well-known painter Winold Reiss, but it is unsigned or at some point lost it's signature.

It is marked "Idaho" on the lower left of the painting. the Santa Fe Art Auction was consulted with respect to it's possible attribution to Winold Reiss, and after seeing photographs requested to inspect the art piece in person. The were unable to make a solid attribution, and the piece is priced at the decorative art level.
