Painter, writer, novelist and screenwriter Willard Wiener was born in Saint
Louis, Missouri in 1900. After military service during World War I from 1920
to 1934, Willard Wiener worked as a newspaper reporter in New York, working
at The Evening Post, the Philadelphia Bulletin, and the New
the 1940's he started painting and drawing, exhibiting his artwork in local
galleries. He and his family moved back and forth between Los Angeles,
California and New York City, New York, and he authored two novels, along
with screen and teleplays.
and his family relocated to California in 1946, where he remained up until
the time of his death in 1982.
