Born in 1935, Shingo Kusuda is a contemporary, listed Avant-garde Pop Art painter from Kyoto, Japan, who trained at the local art school. After studying traditional Japanese-style painting, he and several other painters joined forces to launch a new revolutionary movement.

Well known collectors John and Kimiko Powers had Shingo Kusudas' works in their collection, and sponsored a Japanese-American cultural research program in 1964 that brought Shingo Kusuda to the United States to work with contemporary American artists.

Works by Shingo Kusuda have sold for as much as $4,800.00 at auction.
