Scott Sonnikson is a well-known Pacific Northwest painter and photographer, born in 1945 in Portland, Oregon.

He attended Portland State University and received a Max Beckman Fellowship in painting at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, after which he got a Master of Fine Arts at Yale University studying under Al Held, Bruce Marden, and Robert Motherwell.

Scott Sonniksen's paintings have been exhibited widely in the Pacific Northwest and are in the permanent collections of the Seattle Art Museum, the Brooklyn Art Museum, Yale University Art Gallery, Portland State University, and many other private and corporate collections.
