Born in 1919, Robert MacDonald Graham was an important Missouri painter
and illustrator who studied with Thomas Hart Benton at the Kansas City Art
While many of his paintings show the influence of
Benton, he worked in other styles for his well-known landscapes of the
Missouri countryside, and his large frescoes. He taught at the
University of Missouri, Kansas City, and at the University of Texas.
His works are in many public and private collections. A
retrospective of his work was held in the art galleries of Central Methodist
College in 2012.
He died in 2003.
