former graffiti artist known for his iconic images of "The Brute", a
representation of bold and brooding smoking men. His work is often executed on
'found objects' that suit Robert Loughlin's sensibility.
His work is highly sought after in
New York City, and is carried by some of the hippest dealers. Robert Loughlin
recently died in 2011. Eulogized in a New York Times
obituary as the "Sage of Retro", Loughlin was known for his iconic images of
"The Brute, often painted on found objects. During his lifetime his work was
highly sought after and remains highly collectible after being featured at
the Design Miami art fair.
