Robert Clunie is a well-listed painter who was born in Scotland in 1895, but came to the United States in 1911 on board the SS California.

This work depicts an area near Bishop, California, where Robert Clunie built his house and studio in 1945. Robert Clunie was a member of the California Art Club, the Painters and Sculptors Club, and the Academy of Western Painters. His paintings have sold at auction for as much as $9,000.00. He died in 1984.
