Well-listed California painter, print maker, and graphic designer Robert Alexander Graham was born in 1873 in Brooklyn, Iowa and trained at the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Art Student's League in New York City, New York.

He studied with Robert Henri, George Bridgman, and John Henry Twachtman, and was known for his landscapes, portraits, still life, cityscapes, and figural works. His works have been exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Salmagundi Club in New York City and the Art Institute of Chicago. He died in 1946.
