Robert Alan Smith was a multi-talented animator and master innovator of
the technique of screen printing.
Born in 1927 in Pasadena, California, he studies at the
Chouinard Art Institute under Donald Graham, Richard Haines, and Dan Lutz.
He also studies at Escuela Universitaria de Bellas Artes in Mexico, working
with David Alfaro Siqueiros on a mural project.
He worked for the major studios as an animator while
pursuing his career as a creator of fine arts. His works were widely
exhibited at such venues as the Library of Congress, LACMA, the Smithsonian,
Pasadena Art Museum and the Seattle Art Museum, among others. He died in
