May Schaetzel is a listed American painter and watercolor artist, known
for her paintings of Paris and her still life.
Born in New York City, New York in 1870, she was a
resident of Los Angeles, California prior to her move to Paris, France in
1920. She was a student of the Academie Julien during her time in Paris. She
moved back to California in 1933, and exhibited at the Nicholson Gallery in
Pasadena, the Desert Inn in Palm Springs, and the O'Toole Gallery in New
York. She died in 1952.
