Born in 1854, Mary Henrietta Dering Curtois is a listed British artist
hailing from a prominent Lincolnshire family of Anglican clergymen.
A painter and lecturer, Miss Curtois studied at the
Lincoln School of Art and later in Paris, France, at the Julian Studio.
During her life she was represented by the Usher Gallery in in Lincoln. Her
works were exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon.
She was a member of the Forum Club in London, England,
a center for Women's Institute members. She died in 1929.
