Lydia Symington Cooling is a listed California painter.

Born in 1903 in Leicester, England, she and her husband landed at Ellis Island in 1929, and lived in Illinois and Clearwater, Florida before moving to Carmel, California in 1953. She studied with many known artists in the Carmel area before she began selling her paintings in 1957 in her own gallery.

She won a number of awards for her work including one at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. She was a member of the Society of Western Artists, the Carmel Art Association, the San Diego Art Institute, and the La Jolla Art Association. She died in 2000.
