Louis Macouillard is a listed California artist who was born in San Francisco, California in 1913. He was educated at the California College of Arts and Crafts, as well as the Arts Student's League in New York, New York.

During World War II he served in the Navy in the South Pacific, and produced many artworks that were published in Life magazine. His work was also featured in the 1985 book entitled 'The California Style'. HE died in 1987.
