 Born in 1902, Leopoldo Mendez was on of Mexico's most important artists of the 20th Century.

He was primarily known for his engraved illustrations connected to his political and social activism. HE worked with the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolutionarios and the Taller de Grafica Popular creating propaganda promoting the Mexican Revolution and opposing Fascism in the 1930's He died in 1969.
