Leonardo Nierman is a leader in the creation of vibrant modern Mexican art. Born in 1932 in Mexico City, Mexico, he earned a degree in physics and mathematics from the National University of Mexico.

He undertook studies of the psychology of color and harmony, and incorporated it into his Abstract Expressionism artworks. His first commission was a huge mural at the Natio0nal University of Mexico. Music is also one of the great inspirations for Leonardo Nierman's work. Formerly a lead violinist for the Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Leonardo Nierman regards music as the highest form of art.
