Listed Canadian painter Leonard C Lane was born around 1910 in Bristol, England, and emigrated with his family to Canada when he was sixteen. He served four years in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II.

He is primarily known for his realistic marine paintings which he exhibited extensively throughout the United States. He died suddenly in a plane crash in 1978.

His paintings have sold at auction for as much as $4,000.00.
