Joseph Morhardt is a listed painter born in 1906 in Pasadena, California, who spent his early life in Los Angeles, California.

During the 1920's he earned a Master's Degree in Music, and in the 1930's he traveled to Tahiti with author Zane Grey as his photographer. He painted with John Hilton and was a resident of Bishop, California in his later life. He died in 1987.
