Joe Gropper is a listed painter, gallerist, teacher and sometime actor born in 1925 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

He attended the Massachusetts College of Art and then graduated with honors from the Boston Museum School. Oscar Kokoschka was his mentor and influenced his work. He owned a gallery in Harvard Square and was known for his watercolors, oils, and caricatures. HE and the artist William Gropper were cousins. He died in 1999.
