Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1919, the listed Post War
California painter Jean Halpert-Ryden studied at Brooklyn College before
moving to California in 1949.
She had her first one woman show at the Palace of the
Legion of Honor in San Francisco, California, in 1959. Many other
exhibitions followed at the Lucien Labaudt Gallery, City of Paris, Rotunda
Gallery; Gallerie Mirage in Montpellier, France; Monterey Peninsula Museum
of Art, and others.
Her works are in many corporate collections including
IBM, Kaiser Corporation, and the Clorox Corporation. She died in 2011.
