Jason Schoener is a listed painter, born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1919 to a
family of distinguished artists that include his uncle and aunt, William and
He spent his summers with the Zorachs at their
Georgetown, Maine farm. He graduated from the Cleveland Art Institute and
studies architecture for a year at the Western Reserve University. In 1951,
he and his wife moved to California where he taught at the California
College of Arts and Crafts.
For two decades he had exhibitions of his work at the
Midtown Gallery in New York City, as well as the Brooklyn Museum of Art and
the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC. He died in 1997.
