Jan Gary is a listed woman painter and illustrator, born in 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas, but later resettled to New Jersey.

She studied at the Art Center School in Los Angeles, California, the San Antonio Art Institute and the Art Students League in New York City, New York. She is a member of the Audubon Artists, National Society of Women Artists, Painters and Sculptors Society of New Jersey, the the Associated Artists of New Jersey.

Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Canada, and Scotland. She has received numerous awards and prizes, and her works are in many collections of public museums. She has bee featured in such publications as the New York Times, American Artist Magazine, and the Foreign Service Journal, among others.
