James McGarrell is a very
well-listed post abstract figurative painter, printmaker, and teacher.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana
in 1930, he studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and
participated in the ground-breaking 1959 Museum of Modern Art exhibition.
His works are in the collections of many museums, and his art had been
documented in Thirty-four art reference sources.
He participated in five
Whitney Annuals and Biennials, and the 1968 Venice Biennale.
