Mole Payne is a listed Utah painter, known primarily for her landscapes of the
Utah terrain, but also for still life and portraits as well.
Croydon, Utah in 1902, she studied under famed Utah artist James Taylor
Harwood, and received an MFA from the University of Utah before continuing
training at the Academie Julian in Paris, France.
works have been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The
Palette Club of Ogden, Utah, the Utah Power and Light Auditorium and the State
Capitol building. The Springville Museum of Art had a retrospective of her work
recently. She died in 1965.
