Born in 1909, well-listed painter, printmaker, and sculptor Hans Erni has
been called the "Swiss Picasso".
Born in Lucerne, Switzerland, he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts
before going to Paris, France, to study at the Academie Julian. Hans Erni's
work was influenced by Picasso and George Braque. The artists prolific
career was honored by the opening of the Hans Erni Museum in Lucerne which
houses the largest collection of the artist's work.
He died in 2015.
