Gary Ray is a contemporary listed Plein Air painter known for his arts and crafts style of paintings of Southern and Central California.

A fourth generation Californian, Gary Ray was born in 1952 in Venice Beach, and is essentially a self-taught artist influenced by the early California painters Edgar Payne and Hanson Puthoff.

His works have been exhibited widely throughout the state of California and have sold at auction for as much as $4,800.00.
