Fred Darge is a very well-listed Texas painter who was born in Rendsburg, Germany in 1900.

After moving to the United States via Port Arthur, Texas in 1923, he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a WPA artist during the Great Depression. He served as a technical illustrator in the Unites States Army during Word War II. His paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and have sold at auction for as much as $59,380.00. He died in 1978.
