Evelyn Ackerman and her husband Jerome are iconic Eames era industrial
designers known for their mid-century carvings, tapestries. mosaics,
textiles, and architectural home furnishings.
Born in 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, she studied at the
University of Michigan, and them at the Wayne University where she completed
her MFA. They had a succession of studios in Los Angeles, California, and
successfully outsourced their designs to craft-persons across the world. She
died in 2012.
