Daniel Hernandez-Salazar is a listed photographer and social activist, born
in Guatemala City, Guatemala in 1956.
Interested in photography since childhood, he studied architecture. His first
commissions were in architectural photography. During the Guatemalan Civil War
of the 1980's, he served as a photojournalist. As an Independent artist, he has
had more than twenty-five solo and thirty group exhibitions.
He was awarded the "Jonathan Mann" award from the International Association
of Physicians in AIDS care, and was knighted with the "Ordre Des Arts et des
Letters" by the French Government.
