This was recently found on a buying trip up in the San Francisco and wine
country area, and is typical of the style of paintings that came out of the
New Deal era Work's Progress Administration's program of hiring artists
throughout the country who were employed by the government to paint
paintings & murals, create sculptures, and other art forms to adorn post
offices, schools, and many other public buildings at the time.
While we found no information on Morton, the painting is still very
collectible because of it's style and workmanship.
