Found at a recent estate sale, this work portrays the image of Pierrot, a stock character of pantomime and Commedia dell'Arte, whose origins date to the late 17th Century.

Usually projected as a "sad clown", pining over the lost love of Columbine, Pierrot is a figure often portrayed in art as the alter-ego of the artist. Information on the background of the artist Allison Katzman is not currently available.
